The orchid is pollinated exclusively by the male wasp Dasyscolia ciliata. The flower strongly resembles the wasp's females (brownish hairs, scent, sky reflection as in the insect wings). The evolved resemblances (mimicry) are so efficient that the wasp males often "copulate" with flowers.
