IUCN Red List: Endangered (EN).
The great bustard's habitat includes grasslands/steppes and undisturbed cultivation. Intensive agriculture, afforestation, construction of roads, power lines, fencing and increased irrigation mean loss of habitat for them. The great bustard is particularly sensitive to increased human activity during the breeding season.
