A carnivorous plant. It grows in nutrient-poor environments; the nutrients (including nitrogen) are supplemented by digesting caught insects and spiders, and even moths and salamanders. The prey it lures into modified leaf traps where it digests with the help of its own enzymes and commensal bacteria.
